There is a noticeable difference between a low-cost hydraulic pump and one that is meant for construction, agricultural, and machine-tool service, and this MTE appears to fall into the latter group. I chose it because the application range made sense and the cast iron body suggested durability where it matters. The price is higher than entry-level options, but still reasonable for a work-oriented pump. If you need a dependable direct-drive unit, this is worth considering. Documentation could be a touch fuller.

This MTE D201-5486 is clearly aimed at real equipment use, and that is what drew me to it. The cast iron body and broad list of applications gave me more confidence than many lighter-duty pumps in the same general category. I needed something for a direct-drive setup on a machine tool project, and this looked like a much better long-term choice than a bargain alternative. At around $131, it is not cheap, but it feels appropriately priced for a new hydraulic gear pump built for work.
