We picked this up because it fits Trophy Strike gas and lithium-ion power heads, but it is also handy as a manual auger when we want to travel light. Build quality has been solid and the connection points line up properly. It is a practical piece for anglers already using that system. The cutting effort is reasonable, though like any hand auger it is best suited to moderate drilling volume.

The Trophy Strike 6 inch hand ice auger has been a good choice for early and mid-season trips when we do not want to haul more gear than necessary. The adjustable handle positions are genuinely useful, especially when switching between users of different heights. It cuts cleanly and stores reasonably well. It is still hand drilling, so on thicker ice you will feel the work, but the auger itself performs well.

What sold me on this auger was the 48, 52, and 55 inch handle adjustment, and that feature has made a difference. I have used fixed-length augers that always felt a little awkward, but this one is easier to set up for a comfortable stance. The 6 inch hole size is right for the fishing we do. I only wish the included product information had been a bit more detailed.
